The Dreamcore Reverie packs powerful hardware into a sleek, sandblasted aluminum case
Dreamcore has announced the Reverie, a larger and more powerful custom PC that follows on the heels of the Dreamcore One small form factor machine. The Reverie will debut at the upcoming PC Show at a starting price of S$1,499, and offers a wide range of customization options for just about anybody.
The made-in-Singapore startup has sought to associate itself with clean, elegant designs and high-performance machines, and the Reverie’s simple and understated chassis is very tastefully done.
It features a sandblasted aluminum finish and a front facade that is undisturbed by any front I/O connectors or even a power button. Instead, these have been moved to the right side, where you’ll find two USB 3.1 (Gen 1) Type-A ports and dedicated headphone and microphone jacks.
Finally, there’s a clear side panel on the right that will allow you to show off your components (and RGB lighting, if you so choose).
Here’s a look at the recommended specifications:
- Intel Core i5-7500 (3.4GHz, 6MB L3 cache)
- 16GB DDR4 RAM
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
- 120GB SSD + 1TB HDD
- Windows 10 Home (64-bit)
The above configuration will cost S$1,759 at the PC Show, down from a usual price of S$1,890. However, the chassis can fit up to a GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, so you can equip it to run the latest games at a 4K resolution as well.
The Reverie can also be fitted with AMD hardware, including Ryzen processors and the company’s latest Radeon RX 560, 570, and 580 graphics cards. So if you’re looking to build an affordable workstation system that can game on the side, all the options are on the table.
Like the Dreamcore One, the Reverie is part of the Dreamcore Ecosystem, which allows users to buy new components directly from Dreamcore and have them installed for free.
