Audiofly Bluetooth earphone review – quality and value in the whole range

You know how they say we should buy Australian? Now you can gladly do that when buying Bluetooth earphones so you can experience surprising audio quality with home-grown brand Audiofly.

The new range of locally designed and engineered earphones brings Audiofly’s expertise in professional music to customers who want to enjoy their music on the go.

The Perth-based company has come up with a range of three earphones – good, better, best offerings – that absolutely punch above their weight.

Audiofly’s expertise in designing pro-musician stage and recording headphones with multi-driver technology has been used to provide a remarkable soundstage.

And what’s even more impressive is the fact the earphones start at just $59.95.

Here’s what Audiofly is offering:

AUDIOFLY AF33W – $59.95

You read that price right – that’s not a typo.

Usually for this price you’d end up with something cheap and nasty. But that couldn’t be further than what the AF33W delivers.

The earbuds are quite small and sleek and have 9mm drivers onboard.

But what keeps them small is the fact the battery and Bluetooth radios are located inside the small modules located on the cables.

Available in white or black, the AF33W are light, durable and sweat resistant so that can handle a session in the gym or a run.

They sit in place well creating a nice seal and will only come out when you’re ready to remove them.

Sound-wise, we were blown away by the clarity and bass levels. We had to remind ourselves they were less than $60.

They are punching way above their weight and offer amazing quality if you’re on a budget.

You get about three and half hours of listening time from a one-hour charge.

AUDIOFLY AF56W – $139

The cost jumps up a little here but the audio quality takes a bigger leap.

Now we’ve got a slightly more refined design with small stainless steel earbuds that angle nicely for a secure fit on your ear.

The cord between the earbuds is braided Audioflex tangle-free cable with aptX Audio Streaming technology that delivers an even larger soundstage.

The audio range is remarkable and you can hear the added power with every note.

With the AF55W you get five hours of playback on a one-hour charge.

Our only complaint – and this is a minor issue – is the modules on the cables are a little plasticky and could be a touch smaller – but then the earbuds would be bigger. So we’re OK with this situation.

We wore the earphones with the cable running behind our head and that made them more comfortable to wear.

AUDIOFLY AF100W – $189

At the top of the line, the Audiofly AF100W has all the bells and whistles including a dual membrane dynamic microdriver and a design based on the professional stage monitors.

audiofly1

They have an over-the-ear design so they fit snugly and each earbud has a memory foam tip so they can shape themselves to your ear comfortably.

They also have the braided Audioflex cable and aptX Audio Streaming technology.

And you’ll also clearly hear why these earphones are top of the line for Audiofly – they offer a complete soundscape at all levels with crisp high and mid-levels and a perfect helping of bass.

They are lightweight and comfortable and have a battery life of five hours as well.

VERDICT

At these prices, the Audiofly earphones are solid value because quality wise they are rubbing shoulders with some well-known, and far more expensive, brands.
