Roland HandSonic 10 Review

The HandSonic 10 fulfills all my jamming and practicing needs without incurring the wrath of my downstairs neighbors!

This thing is great! The Roland HandSonic 10 is perfect for the hand drummer looking for portability and ease of setup and, with the headphone jack, you can practice throughout the night without waking the neighbors!

It comes loaded with tons of high quality, great sounding samples. If you’re not satisfied with any of the sounds, you can edit a number of different parameters including drum tuning, muffling, and effects (reverb, delay, EQ, compression, distortion, etc.) to fine-tune the voice to your tastes.

With the inclusion of MIDI in and out ports, you can use the HandSonic as a controller for your favorite virtual instruments or use it as a sound module with an external controller.

The Rhythm Coach function is great and, by using a number of game-like training exercises, your timing is sure to improve! The HandSonic also comes with a mix-in jack for your CD player or iPod and a multitude of metronome songs so you can always find music to play along with.

If all that wasn’t enough, you can expand on the HandSonic by adding a kick drum trigger and a hi-hat trigger to control even more sounds with your feet.

As someone living in an apartment building, the Roland HandSonic 10 fulfills all my jamming and practicing needs without incurring the wrath of my downstairs neighbors!
